A lot of people ask me… “If you’re so good at investing in property, then why do you need to spend hours every week coaching investors?”
When I’m asked this question by someone, it often tells me a lot about where they are coming from.
See, many of those who ask me will answer “no” to these questions:
- Do you love your job and look forward to it every day?
- Do you have a clear vision of how you want to help your customers or clients?
- Do you know how to create reliable passive income for minimal effort?
I often find that people who ask me this don’t like their jobs (which is why they are investigating investing in real estate).
People who answer “no” to these questions and are naturally going to be confused by why I happily work so hard every day, because to them, work is something negative.
So here’s what I say to these people:
1. My investments are passive
They make money while I sleep, so I don’t have to be out there actively “hustling” for deals all the time.
This also means I have more time to do what I choose to do while my investments are ticking over in the background.
2. I love helping people
In the time I have freed up for myself, I choose to help others achieve the same freedom. I love helping them create wealth, change their financial positions and be able to have the choices in life they didn’t feel they could ever reach before working with me.
That’s a reason I can bounce out of bed every morning, because I know that that day, I get to help make someone’s life better.
3. The bottom line is…
People think that you’re financially successful when you reach a day when you do nothing. I totally disagree with this… and so do most of my clients.
We do, however, think that financial success is about reaching the day when you have choice about the work you do.
This is why, in the first one-on-one session I spend with clients, we start with understanding their life goals and what they really want to achieve. When you start to investigate it, the truth is most people don’t actually want money. People want the freedom to choose what they do when they aren’t burdened by needing to work for money.
